Parent Information

Co-Curricular Supplementary Insurance Information

Parents will find information for the Ludington Area Schools Supplementary Insurance Policy which is provided to students who are injured while practicing or participating with one of our teams in this document.  The injury must have occurred during an organized and school supervised practice or competition to qualify for coverage.  The coach or adviser must provide the athletic office with an injury report describing the specifics of the injury and when it occurred during the practice or competition.  Once the injury report is submitted to the athletic office, paperwork for parents will be sent home with instructions for submitting paperwork to the insurance company.

Physicals

Every student-athlete must have a physical to practice or play a sport at OJ or Ludington High School.  The physical must be dated April 15 of the current year or later for this upcoming school year. Please pick up MHSAA physical cards from the athletic office or the CBO.  During the dates in which the athletic office is closed physicals and activity fees may be turned into the central business office.

Activity Fee

All student-athletes must pay a $50.00 activity fee.  The fee is only charged once during the school year and will cover all the sports your child participates in the school year.

General Information

All students must be in attendance the entire school day to participate in competition or practice.  If they miss due to a doctor's appointment they must bring in a note from the doctor's office.

All student-athletes must be registered in at least 4 classes.  They must be passing 4 classes and must have passed 4 classes the previous trimester to participate in competition.  Classes at WSCC count as one class and Tech Prep classes count as 2 classes.

All student-athletes must be aware of our code of conduct.  Coaches will cover this with your child and copies are available in the athletic office.

Officials

If you are interested in becoming an official let us know.  We are short officials in many of our sports.  This is a great way to stay involved and make some extra money.
