BPA2

BPA @ LHS

Today's students. Tomorrow's business professionals.

Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a high school student organization that is in operation the entire school year (from September to September).  THE SCHEDULE FOR THIS ORGANIZATION WORKS GREAT FOR STUDENTS INVOLVED WITH SPORTS AND OTHER EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES TRYING TO MAKE THEIR RESUME MORE WELL-ROUNDED.

Step Outside the Classroom

BPA is a "co-curricular" organization that supports business and information technology educators by offering curriculum based on national standards.  The Workplace Skills Assessment Program (WSAP) prepares students to succeed and assess real-world business skills and problem solving abilities in finance, management, IT and computer applications.

Looking for Professional Status?

Business Professional of America is the leading CTSO (Career Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields. The mission of Business Professionals of America is to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, academic, citizenship, and technological skills.

Something for Everyone!

The LHS BPA CHAPTER currently has three committees: Outreach, Fundraising, and Communications & Training.  Members are encouraged to serve on at least one committee; but each member decides on how much and which direction they need to take.  The parameters of the Outreach Committee entail maintaining and establishing partnerships with local area businesses, assisting other BPA Chapters, and our new Middle School endeavors. The Fundraising Committee is involved with two types of fundraising projects:  service & product. While we may be limited to only one product sale per year, our service fundraisers are unlimited! The last committee, Communications & Training, maintains our activity calendar which includes all communication, announcements and interest for every project and the planning to execute each one, including the logistics and selection process for all workshops, training and events for our chapter to attend.

We'd Love to Have You With US!

BPA has more than 51,000 members in over 2,300 chapters in 23 states, and we are growing!  Recruiting will begin mid to late September.  If you're a student interested in acquiring more information, http://www.bpa.org (national web site) or http://www.michiganbpa.org (state web site)are great resources of information or please feel free to contact Mrs. Tomaski, Advisor (mtomaski@lasd.net).
