Our OJMS Student Council, led by advisors Teresa Eriksen and Diana Kuras, is comprised of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who represent their grade level and facilitate events for the student body in order to give back to the community and bring our own school community together. Last year the Student Council led a "Pennies for Patients" Drive that raised more than $1500 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in a week's time! The council also planned and facilitated our very successful "Beat the Blahs" charity week in February. They created fun competitions and an engaging assembly to end the week for our students. More than $1000 dollars was raised and donated to Lake Shore Animal Friends and Communities Overcoming Violent Encounters (COVE).
